I am a visual artist and an educator, based in Seattle. Here are some samples of the work I do:
This is a permanent public art installation in Washington State University's Holland Library.
Automobile traffic is an allegory, the imagery intended to conceptually illustrate the overlooked connectedness between strangers. Here strangers are isolated within and insulated by their cars, but share a common road. The drivers represent islands in an archipelago; their isolation from one another being only a shallow illusion. The Archipelago concept is also relevant in a library, where diverse ideas, authors, and subjects are interconnected in multiple ways.
